Web Host, PenguinWebHosting, Sponsors Student Net Neutrality Advocacy Web Site

Glen Ellyn, Illinois - October 9, 2006 - Web hosting company, PenguinWebHosting.com, is sponsoring the web site of a senior at Fort Cherry High School in McDonald, Pennsylvania, in its efforts towards Net Neutrality advocacy. Net Neutrality is the idea that the Internet is a free and democratic society. However, currently, a bill is going through Congress that, if passed, will hand over Internet control to the major telephone companies.

Senior high school student, Grant Bachman's web site, restrikted.com, will display his activities, as he stays up for seven days straight, to raise awareness for Net Neutrality. Everyone will be able to check up on Mr. Bachman's physical and mental state during the seven days through videos that will be posted on his site.

Mr. Bachman stated, ''I first found out about the proposed bill while visiting my favorite web site digg.com. After I got over the initial shock that this could actually happen, I knew that I had to do something about it.''

Nick Gilbert, CEO of PenguinWebHosting explained, ''I didn't know about Net Neutrality before meeting Grant, I am glad he brought this to my attention and it is something I am very concerned with too. We plan on donating 25% of sales that come through the PenguinWebHosting.com banner on Grant's site to savetheinternet.com.''

Mr. Bachman's plans after high school are to attend Carnegie Mellon University and then work at Google. Mr. Bachman continued, ''Right now, the Internet is all about choices. If I wanted to search for something on the Internet, I could choose to use Google, Yahoo, or any one of a thousand other search engines. But if the bill gets passed, then that choice will be taken away. Instead of being able to use any search engine I wanted to, I will be limited to what the telephone companies want me to use. And the search engine they want me to use is whatever search engine pays them the most money. Picture that, but with everything, including online encyclopedias, instant messaging clients, and forums. If the bill gets passed, then we won't have a choice.''
