Web Host and VoIP Firm, Cbeyond, Supports SIP Trunking Market
Atlanta, Georgia - September 27, 2006 - Web hosting and managed integrated VoIP services provider, Cbeyond, and VoIP application software firm, Broadoft, are embracing a leadership role in the Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) trunking market. Both companies report the success of a dozen IP PBX vendors that have successfully deployed solutions leveraging their SIP Trunking Service.
Cbeyond and BroadSoft developed the SIP Trunking Service with SIPconnect specification, established 18 months ago by both organizations, along with a number of other leading IP telephony vendors. The specification fosters direct IP interoperability among businesses with IP PBXs and service providers by providing a consistent, industry standards-based approach to interconnection using SIP and other standard VoIP protocols.

The SIPconnect specification, which is now a SIP Forum-proposed recommendation, includes detailed instructions and architecture specifications designed to ensure a consistent quality of service, low cost and full-featured telephony for SIP-based VoIP calls.
