TelCove and High Density Hosting Jointly Announce Transport Services Agreement
TelCove and High Density Hosting, Inc. jointly announce a 5-year agreement valued at over $500K for TelCove’s Internet and Transport Services, including 200 Megabits of Internet Access via Ethernet. HiDHo will use TelCove’s optical fiber-based, self-healing SONET technology to provide dual-entry connections to its next generation datacenter hosting facility in Alpharetta, GA.
HiDHo’s Alpharetta facility offers enterprises outsourced datacenter services for co-location, business continuity/disaster recovery, remote storage, and managed VoIP solutions. The HiDHo Alpharetta center offers the highest quality 24/7/365 management and support, security, fire suppression, and back-up power services. Unique to the Atlanta area, HiDHo offers a modular, liquid-cooled rack configuration for the latest, heat-intensive rack mounted equipment, as well as blade center/blade server racks.
Robert Filipovich, Chief Technical Officer for HiDHo, states, “HiDHo was established because of the growing need for a facility to power and cool the ever-increasing high density server market. IT organizations are increasing their adoption of higher density servers — such as blade centers — that generate significantly more heat than previous generations of equipment. Our liquid-cooled rack configuration can cool up to 20 kilowatts (kW) per rack, versus a typical datacenter that can only offer 3 kW per rack cooling configurations. Other datacenter outsourcing providers, even those with recently built facilities, use the older, air-cooled down-flow fan based configurations and have to sell half-empty racks in order to cool customer equipment.”
Filipovich continues, “With this state-of-the-art design, TelCove’s highly resilient, dual-entry metro Ethernet service for our Internet Access, and TelCove’s extensive 70-market footprint, we can offer a unique value to the most demanding datacenter outsourcing customers in the Atlanta area.”
HiDHo is targeting customers requiring remote storage and co-location solutions for their local and remote locations that align to TelCove’s 70 market footprint across the Eastern US. These customers have applications that range from remote storage, storage area network (SAN), and disaster recovery solutions to enterprise-wide managed VoIP systems.
Joe McCourt, TelCove’s Regional Vice President for the Southeast, adds, “HiDHo evaluated many Atlanta carriers to provide this service. However, only TelCove could offer high-capacity Ethernet transport with a 100% guarantee of network availability, plus an extensive footprint across the Southeast and the Eastern United States. TelCove’s large national footprint aligned to both HiDHo’s existing and planned datacenter locations and their clients’ needs. Their customers need connectivity within and outside of the Atlanta area, and TelCove can provide it.”
