Globat.com Sponsored Childbirth a Full Success
LOS ANGELES, March 23, 2006 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Los Angeles-based Globat.com(R), the world leader in Performance Web Hosting(TM), today announced the joyful delivery of a baby girl whose birth was sponsored by the Web hosting company. Mother Asia Francis gave birth to daughter Samiah Wynn Francis at 2:31 a.m. on Saturday, March 18th, 2006, at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, Missouri.
Little Samiah came in at a healthy six pounds, fifteen ounces and narrowly missed out on being a St. Patrick's Day baby by just two hours. Asia has already taken Samiah to her first doctor's appointment, and both mother and child are healthy and in great shape.
"It's a very humbling thought that we've actually helped a little to bring a new life into the world," said Ben R. Neumann, President and CEO of Globat.com. "Hopefully, one day Samiah will be able to understand how much we have all been affected by her!"
Globat.com's unique birth sponsorship attracted media attention worldwide and even spawned some controversy over the mother's decision to look for a corporate sponsor for this event. The video of the sponsored birth will be available shortly on the Internet at http://www.DefyingGravity.com.
Globat.com has launched a wave of unique sponsorships and events such as a tattooed human billboard under the banner of "Defying Gravity," with the ultimate goal to launch at least one such special event in each of the 50 states. More information about this story can be found at the Defying Gravity Web site ( http://www.defyinggravity.com) or by e-mailing prdept@globat.com.
