Covad Introduces TeleSoho(R) 6.0 DSL and New Business Broadband Prices Nationwide; 6.0 Mbps/768 kbps ADSL Service Designed for Very Small Businesses a
SAN JOSE, Calif., Sep 21, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Covad Communications Group, Inc. (DVW), a leading provider of integrated voice and data communications, today announced a higher bandwidth broadband service for small-office/home-office and power Internet users throughout Covad's nationwide network.
Covad TeleSoho 6.0 Mbps/768 kbps broadband service is one of the most powerful residential and small office DSL connections in the industry today. Combining one of the fastest download and upload speeds available, the 6.0/768 service offers much higher performance at an affordable price. Very small business and power Internet users can expect maximum download speeds to reach up to 6.0 Mbps, which is approximately four times faster than basic 1.5 Mbps DSL and upstream speeds of up to 768 kbps or about six times faster than entry-level consumer DSL service. This high-bandwidth connection allows multiple users within the same small office or home to share this broadband connection and still receive multi-megabit access to the Internet.
"There has been an increasing demand for higher bandwidth broadband services so Covad responded with TeleSoho 6.0, a compelling combination of price and blazing fast performance," said Charles Hoffman, Covad's president and chief executive officer. "Because Covad offers many different varieties of DSL, we are able to address the specific bandwidth needs of diverse Internet users throughout the country."
Covad TeleSoho 6.0 is priced at $109.95 per month and is currently offered with free modem and self-install kit. Other value added services provided with this service include:
-- Email Services -- Receive 15 email boxes
-- Standard Web space -- 10 MB Web space
-- Account Management -- In order to provide easy access to account and billing data, we developed the SMART Account Manager. SMART enables you to make changes to your account, manage email addresses and find answers to your questions anytime without having to pick up a phone
-- Dial Service -- Covad offers a national 56K dial-up service for when you are away from your DSL
-- IP Addressing -- One fixed public IP with network address translation (NAT) is standard, or select five static IP addresses for an additional $10 per month
Covad regularly evaluates its broadband services, prices, and features to ensure that we are always delivering high value to our customers. As a result, Covad also announced price reductions in the following services:
